There are millions of Americans under the age of 18 with some form of physical disability. Adaptive Adventures takes pride in creating sports & recreation opportunities for youth by providing access to the outdoors and helping families work toward inclusion in their local communities. Our programs for children continue to experience substantial growth year after year. In 2008, ASK has provided services for more than 500 disabled kids participating in nearly 1000 lessons.
We maintain and grow an extensive inventory of adaptive sports equipment to accommodate the growing number of youth participants in our programs. Our experienced team is readily available to insure safety, proper equipment fit, and expert instruction. A large percentage of our staff and volunteers are disabled, and serve as positive role models for our young participants.
Adaptive Adventures works in collaboration with many youth-oriented organizations to help improve and expand existing programs. Some of the groups we provided resources to in the past year include: Colorado Jr. Wheelchair Sports Camp, Dreams for Kids, Ski for Light, Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association, Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago Sports & Fitness, and Parks & Recreation Programs in Denver, Boulder, Evergreen, Greely, and Fort Collins, Colorado as well as SRA's in Illinois.
