Joby Berman

Volunteer Coordinator

Joby Berman (Joel’s Mom) is serving as the Volunteer Coordinator after a long career in transportation management and operations.  Joby has supported Joel from the inception of Adaptive Adventures but recently retired and she can now devote much more time to the organization.  Before taking on the role of Volunteer Coordinator, she was the Director of Public Transportation for the State ofIllinois, General Manager of External Affairs at the Chicago Transit Authority, and the Deputy Chief of Engineering for the Illinois Tollway.  She also started a consulting engineering firm in 1983 and sold it to an international company in 1992, remaining as a Vice-President until retirement.  Adaptive Adventures can only be as successful as its volunteers; the number of participants we can serve is dependent on the number of volunteers who come to each event and help out with administrative and fundraising activities.
