David Wolf tumbled five stories off the top of a building while stationed in Germany, suffering a non-combat injury that would alter his career path and change his life forever. After spending the next half-year in intensive care, Wolf had begun the recovery process from a broken back. That didn’t change the fact that he was paralyzed from the waist down and would never walk again. His life has been a battle of ups and downs ever since, as he’s battled PTSD, depres sion and alcoholism. But Wolf considers himself lucky. READ MORE

Men’s Health: Friends help amputee overcome death-defying injuriesIn 1983, Joe Kincaid of Naperville received the one phone call you hope you never get: “There has been an accident. It’s bad.” Kincaid’s longtime friend Joel Berman was hit by a runaway flatcar while putting down railroad track for the CTA extension at O’Hare Airport. “It wasn’t a good picture,” Kincaid says. “Both legs were severely crushed, and early on, we thought he would lose both legs.” READ MORE

Adaptive Adventures Featured on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) Adaptive Adventures was featured on the premiere of Rollin'With Zach on the OWN network December 12th at 7:30 pm CST. Rollin with Zach is a show about a young man with Ceberal Palsy who is obsessed with travel and tackles each and every adventure with humor and emotion, while he attempts new and exciting experiences he never thought possible. We are so honored to be part of his waterskiing experience in Chicago, appreciate the help of our local partners with Aquanuts Ski Team and GLASA. | Adaptive Adventures Receives a $5,000 grant from The UPS Foundation |
The grant will be used to support Adaptive Sports for Kids (ASK), a program of Adaptive Adventures, designed to provide year around sports opportunities for children and young adults with physical disabilities.
