Midwest Ski & Ride Program

Welcome to the new Adaptive Adventures Midwest Adaptive Ski & Ride Program. The program is a  partnership between Adaptive Adventures and  Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association, working in collaboration with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago Sports Program and Wilmot Mountain. 2011 - 2012 will mark our second full season of operations and we are excited to continue to develop needed adaptive ski opportunties for individuals with physical and visual disabilities in Northern Illinois, Southern Wisconsin and throughout the region.  Last season, the program served 82 individuals with physical disabilities through 155 lessons, including 42 disabled veterans and wounded warriors.

Many resources are needed to continue the development of this new program. Contributions of time, money, and in-kind donations are all vital to providing alpine ski, snowboard, and cross country opportunities to physically challenged athletes in the area.  Our greatest need is for volunteer ski and ride instructors. If you are a strong skier, we can teach you to work with different abilities and equipment.

Our overall goal is to introduce paticipants to snow sports in a safe, fun, and learning environment. 
 
 Note: Cost is $25/session and includes lift tickets, equipment, instruction, and staffing
