National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic
Sunday, March 31, 2013 - Saturday, April 6, 2013
Adaptive Adventures has been sending a group of instructors and volunteers to the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic since our inception in 1999. Several of our staff have been involved in the event prior to 1999 as well. This event promotes rehabilitation by instructing veterans with disabilities in adaptive Alpine and Nordic skiing and introduces them to a number of other adaptive recreational activities and sports.
Adaptive Adventures Military Operations (AAMO) Director Chris Werhane will serve as the On Mountain Safety Coordinator for the Department of Veteran Affairs at the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic where he has been an Instructor since 1988. Chris is also a leader in assigning all apline ski and snowboard lessons at the event.
In 2013, the event will host nearly 400 disabled veterans and be supported by over 170 volunteer ski instructors as well as hundreds of other Team Leaders, volunteers, medical staff, and VA staff. We look forward to another great year of helping to create "Miracles on the Mountainside"
