Adaptive KayakingIn 2010, Adaptive Adventures - Chicago is making kayaking our primary focus for summer program growth. We will look to continue a productive partnership with Kayak Chicago and expand on events in collaboration with GLASA. Additionally, we have completed the outfitting of our own equipment trailer with over 20 kayaks available for use with local non-profit and community partners and participants. We are implementing a fundraising campaign to purchase additional equipment and expand program opportunities this coming season. Our mission is to make kayaking available to everyone.

Increasingly, people with disabilities are discovering kayaking as a recreational activity. Using standard and/or adapted equipment, many people with disabilities can kayak on a "level paddling field" with their non-disabled peers. Since our inception in 1999, Adaptive Adventures has been involved in adapting kayaking to offer experiential and instructional paddling opportunities for people with disabilities! Through our programs, people with disabilities and their families can enjoy everything from more peaceful adventures like lake kayaking, to high adventure like whitewater kayaking. Whatever your adventure dream may be, we can help you reach it.

We will look to continue a productive partnership with Kayak Chicago as well as to develop a similar program in the Denver Metro area. We have nearly completed the outfitting of our own equipment trailers with a dozen kayaks available for use with local non-profit and community partners and participants. We are implementing a fundraising campaign to purchase additional equipment and expand program opportunities next season. Our mission is to make kayaking available to everyone.
