Adaptive Adventures Receives El Pomar Foundation Grant to Fund Adaptive Sports and Recreation Programs

Adaptive Adventures has received a $5,000 El Pomar Grant to support its year-round adaptive sports and recreation programs and to enhance programs and recreational opportunities for recently injured soldiers from the Global War on terrorism. Adaptive Adventures works in cooperation with the Walter Reed Army Hospital, the Brook Army Medical Center, and the Wounded Warrior Disabled Sports Project to provide programs to help soldiers and their families adjust to life after a traumatic, life-altering injury.

Thank you to the El Pomar Foundation for their support of the Adaptive Adventures!

Our 2007 Funding Priorities

Equipment grant to allow us to replace dated equipment and add new technology... this would allow us to expand programs to new markets and abilities.

Information Resource Center grant would allow us to share our knowledge base with worldwide participants and their families... allowing us to find help for those outside of our regional capabilities.

Operating costs grant for the most part, our grant funding supports specific programs in specific demographics, in 2006 we are hoping to find support to address our top three operating costs: our rent, our insurance costs and our DSL/Internet connectivity.

Program grants Adaptive Adventures has seven specific program areas, each with supporting budgets and participant forecasts. Grants that support a program in its entirety help us to expand that program into new markets, partner with other non-profits to serve more people and to attract and support new participants.
