Thomas Sauder
Board President and Treasurer
Thomas Sauder is a healthcare finance and economics leader, credentialed actuary, and dedicated community volunteer. With more than 15 years of experience, he is passionate about improving healthcare through value-based care—using data, financial insight, and collaboration with healthcare providers to improve patient outcomes.
Thomas currently serves as Senior Director of Actuarial Services at Thyme Care, a value-based cancer care company focused on delivering high-touch, patient-centered healthcare and support. He draws on his expertise in data analytics, healthcare economics, and finance to evaluate clinical opportunities, program design, and outcomes. His experience also includes working with other healthcare startups, including Strive Health, where he supported value-based kidney care, as well as a Fortune 5 company. Earlier in his career, Thomas worked as an actuarial consultant, partnering with Congress to model the financial and social effects of proposed healthcare legislation.
Service has been an important part of Thomas’s life from an early age. In high school, he volunteered extensively with Key Club, a Service Leadership Program of Kiwanis International, serving as both a local club president and regional lieutenant governor. In college, he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and served as treasurer of his local chapter.
Thomas’s connection to Adaptive Adventures is deeply personal. Growing up in Wisconsin, he helped care for his grandfather, who lived with multiple sclerosis and used a wheelchair. His grandfather loved sports, but Thomas saw how often the world around him limited his opportunities to participate. An experience such as biking alongside his grandchildren could have been life-changing. That perspective gives Thomas a special appreciation for Adaptive Adventures’ ability to bring individuals and families together through recreation, connection, and shared joy.
Now based in Boulder, Colorado, Thomas is honored to serve on Adaptive Adventures’ Board of Directors. He is excited to combine his passion for serving others with his analytical and financial expertise, helping the organization grow, reach more families, and create opportunities for people of all abilities to experience the joy of adventure.
