Andrew Crain
Grants Manager
Andrew is an Oklahoman who grew up on his family’s small dairy farm, so spending time outdoors has always been a defining part of his life.
After receiving his Master’s degree in International Security Studies from the University of Oklahoma, Andrew spent nearly a decade in government affairs and the national security field. Toward the end of his time in DC, Andrew made his first foray into outdoor recreation work as the Program and Business Development Specialist at Acorn Outdoor Learning. Being involved with Acorn’s mission of helping children explore nature in the urban environment was incredibly formative as it gave Andrew first-hand perspective on the wide range of physical, economic, and social barriers to entry that can impede access to outdoor adventures.
In October 2025, Andrew and his wife relocated to Colorado for her career. This relocation gave him the chance to translate his advocacy expertise and experience with Acorn into fully committing to a career pivot into the outdoor recreation sector. This culminated in him joining Adaptive Adventures in March 2026.
As an avid cyclist and hiker, Andrew is always on the lookout for local knowledge on the Front Range’s best road and gravel biking routes and hidden gem hiking trails.
