Don Godshaw grew up in Western New York and started skiing as a toddler. He fell in love with the sport and pursued the slopes with a passion. By age 16 he was teaching skiing and at age 21, moved to Chile so he could ski, teach and coach. Once back in the US, Don started a manufacturer’s rep agency, selling outdoor apparel in Denver Colorado from 1973 through 1981. From there, he went to Chicago to join a small, fledgling company, that later became High Sierra Sports Company. After 17 years of building the High Sierra Company, Don joined another small Company, Travel Caddy, Inc. which soon became Travelon. In 1999, Don and his wife, purchased Travelon which has grown from a staff of 10 to a staff of over 100. Today Travelon does business in approximately 60 countries.
In late 2006 he was injured while skiing in Aspen. Don was introduced to Adaptive Adventures first as a participant. He was so impressed by the work that they do, he later joined the board. Travelon’s offices in our in Franklin Park Illinois, they also provide office space and storage for Adaptive Adventures Midwest facility.
