Kayaking and Stand-up Paddleboarding for Balance and Fitness Series

In partnership with Sportainability


Exploring a fun and active way to improve your balance and fitness.  Our eight week community based kayak and paddle board progression (NOT kayak eskimo roll specific instruction) places importance on, and utilizes, our Healthy and Active LifecycleTM. Balance and freedom of mobility through the water based vehicle (kayak/paddleboard) will allow for a creative and fun progression of skills necessary to navigate skill courses and eventually, lakes and moving water rivers in the spring.

Balance and fitness are essential physical components of a healthy lifestyle.  These two broad categories are both significantly affected by strength, flexibility, and coordination.  Throughout this program we will be focusing on a variety of activities that develop and enhance strength, flexibility, and coordination which will ultimately improve balance and overall fitness.  The use of paddleboards and kayaks will provide an enjoyable way to enhance this attributes and will also provide the opportunity to learn the sport specific skills essential to enjoying these activities in the future.  Throughout this course your instructors will be consciously focusing on both the fitness aspects as well as the paddlesport skills.

Dates and Time: This course is a sequential series so participants should be able to commit to the majority of these dates.
