Become a Volunteer
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization. With over 650 dedicated individuals, our passionate team of volunteers forms the very foundation of our mission.
As a volunteer, you’ll be part of an incredible community that spans across various roles and responsibilities. From providing essential training and instruction to coordinating and planning events, your contributions will make a meaningful impact. If you have a knack for administration, fundraising, or special event support, we have opportunities for you too.
As a volunteer, you’ll have the chance to actively participate in the sports that ignite your passion alongside those we serve. We value inclusivity, and we provide all volunteers with comprehensive disability awareness training. Additionally, you’ll receive specialized training tailored to the specific sports you’ll be involved in. But it doesn’t stop there—throughout the year, we offer unique opportunities for you to further enhance your skills. Dive deeper into topics such as transferring techniques, working with spinal cord injuries, supporting individuals with traumatic brain injuries, becoming a visual impaired guide, and even First Aid/CPR certification.

How Do I Get Started?
Choose your path above to begin:
- Volunteer – Select this option if you plan to support programs as a volunteer only.
- Participant/Volunteer – Choose this if you’re interested in both participating in programs and volunteering.
After registering, you’ll receive a link to create your username and password.
Once inside the Community, you’ll be guided through a short Orientation Journey, which includes:
- An overview of Adaptive Adventures
- Training and expectations
- Waiver completion
- Background check
When your orientation is complete, you’ll be ready to explore upcoming programs and register for those that interest you.

Our internship program provides a robust learning experience tailored to your goals and aspirations. Whether you’re interested in General Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation, we have internship positions available under the direct supervision of a CTRS supervisor.

Join the Board
Looking to make a significant impact and contribute your expertise to our mission? Join our exceptional Board of Directors! Our board is composed of individuals with diverse backgrounds and extensive business experience, ensuring effective governance and community support. Together, we align operations with our mission statement and strive to meet the needs of our community.
As a board member, you’ll have the opportunity to provide financial support, volunteer your time, and contribute to our development efforts in fundraising, sponsorships, and grants. Our board meets four to six times per year, allowing for active involvement and meaningful decision-making. Each board member serves a three-year term, with the possibility of serving additional terms.
