Sandra Gottschalk-Reed

Board Member

Sandra Gottschalk-Reed grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and moved to Atlanta, Georgia for her last two years of high school.  She attended the University of Georgia to earn her undergraduate degree in special education and then received her MBA from the Robinson School of Business at Georgia State University in Atlanta.  During both her high school and college years she was a member of the tennis team and actively participated in both triathlon and marathon events across the US. During her college years she was an active volunteer and sponsor of Special Olympic events in the State of Georgia.  Over the past 6 years, Sandra has actively participated in several Ironman events both in the US and internationally.  She is passionate about competing in triathlons, cycling and traveling internationally.

Sandra spent her professional career in the medical device industry and was President/Founder of Healthcare Strategies, LLC a leading healthcare consultancy company.  She moved to Colorado with her family in 1998 and resides in the beautiful mountains of Bailey.

Over the past 10 years, Sandra actively volunteered and participated in many fundraising events in her community.  She served as a volunteer firefighter with Platte Canyon Fire Department for 6 years and served as Treasurer of the Board and participated as a member of the medical team for Park County Search and Rescue.  She has also served on several executive boards for not-for-profit organizations over the years.  Sandra has volunteered In Mozambique, Africa working to improve the living conditions within this poverty-stricken country and hopes to return one day soon to continue her volunteer work in the outlying villages.

Sandra has been an active volunteer for the past four years for Adaptive Adventures and this will be her first year on the Board of Directors and will serve as Treasurer for the upcoming year.

She has two twenty-something sons, one living in Denver and the other residing in Manly Beach, Australia.  Sandra enjoys international travel with her adventuresome sons and recently has visited and explored the islands of the Philippine’s, Australia, and South Africa with her family.  She is an avid animal lover and her family includes a Paint Quarter horse, (Chex) and two beautiful dogs including a Golden Doodle (Tahoe) and Australian Shepherd/Cattle mix (Breck).
